Hi. I have a box of chess pieces that I want painted for use with a fantasy role playing game. The clothing and armor is somewhat a cross between Meso-American/Persian and there are a number of non humans (monsters, fantastic races, etc) as well as some human character types. I have a plan for each piece type. I have some larger pawns, alot of them, and they are round and big enough for a skilled artist to paint faces on. The faces and arms and armor need not be portrait realistic, it can be somewhat iconic, but it must look cool and serious, not little smily faces or little lego people. The monsters have multiple limbs which must be done right since they are not 3d. Over all I am kindingof seeking a look that is similar to Aztec art.

These have to be pieces that would appeal to the people using them and that I will be proud to keep and use in my games. Therefore they must be somewhat stylized. I have alot, over a hundred, so I'm looking for an artist who is skilled enough to give me what I am looking for but able to do them quickly enough and easily enough that we can come up with a price that is fair for both of us. I will want a sample done (which i will pay for) and if we can make it happen, I will then settle on a price with you and pay 1/2 up front, the other 1/2 on completion.

What I am looking for is a very good artist with some training or very well self taught with experience. I will need to see a good portfolio of work and have some personal and art references. I do not want a person who takes on the job then says they need more money or that they cannot finish it, so if you don't have a track record there and references that I can trust to the effect that you are dependable and industrious, then please, save us both the pain.
