Built to be rugged, but offers a comfortable ride, with the wider tires and straight handlebars.

The bike was seldom ridden and is all complete with all reflectors, kickstand, etc. as it came from the factory. The original tires still look like new. It's an 18 spped.

Other than the seat, the bike is all stock and original, everything complete as it came from the factory. The tread on the original tires is like new. The brake pad rubber is like new.

It's a 10 speed and has the easy, troublefree thumb shifters.

The bike sit outside though and surface rust got on the brakes and some other chrome components.
Some steel wooling would probably clean it up nicely.

It's a comfortable bike, with a simple, easy thumb shifter, a comfortable seat with springs under it, handlebars that allow for easy vision of surroundings, and thinner tire size which allows for lots of coasting ability.

This bike can be ridden in the rain with it's fenders and chainguard, a luggage rack can be attached, a baby carrier, etc. It's a practical bike.

Pretty good shape. Paint is bright, no tears in seat, etc. Good tread on tires.
Could use a little polishing of wheels and a good oiling wouldn't hurt.

Everything on this bike, besides the wraps, chain, tires and tubes are factory stock. I found this gem on my way to work the other day, propped up beside a dumpster, waiting to be picked up by garbage men. I couldn't let a piece of history just fall into oblivion like that, so I picked it up and carried it to the nearest bike shop, Al's Bicycles, and had them go through it. After some much needed "fixing up" to make this bike ridable, it's a vintage road bike lovers dream.

Notes of particular interest:
Unlike any other road bike I have owned, or seen for that matter, this bike is a fixed gear 10 speed. The reason for this is as such: when I found the bike, in its deplorable condition, the rear derailleur was loosely hanging off the frame by the bikes chain. I thought this was strange, but it's obviously the reason someone decided it wasn't worth anything and put it out to rest. From the professional opinions at Al's, the only solution to such a problem is a piece that holds the derailleur to the rear frame, but in doing so, gear shifting is impossible. Now, this is no doubt a defect in the bikes ability to function to its full potential, but if you're anything like me, this bike is used for nothing more than local rides, trips to school, grocery store, etc. And for that, this bike is more than fine. It's surprisingly light for being an old school steel frame, and it rides smooth given its age.
A permanent solution to this derailleur problem is to cut the frame, weld a small piece in the place of the defunct part of the frame. This sounds like quite a job to take on, but apparently its a quick job for any experienced welder. A MIG wire weld is the weld of choice, according to my good friend whom has some extensive experience in the welding world.
If no one shows any marked interest in the bike, I may eventually take the matter on myself, have the piece welded and even powder coat the frame itself. I'm a big fan of the old school Bridgestone frames, and the Kabuki, which you'll have a hard time finding any information via Google if you try searching it, is pretty rare. I'm juggling this project as well as investing in a new road bike, and trying to either sell or do some similar work on my Schwinn World Sport bike as well.
So if anyone would like to come take a look at this bike, i'll have it ready by next Tuesday or so.

The Optimo 3 is an end of the year add-on to the CAAD8 line from last year. Many places didn't even carry it for 2007 and for 2008 you can only find the Optimo 3 it in the CAAD9 line. It is exactly the same bike as the CAAD9 Optimo 3, except for the sticker that says "CAAD8".

Gorgeous red and silver in color. 54 cm frame, 105's all around. Carbon seat post and forks. Maxis Fuse tires, San Marco Pouza saddle. Cannondale Fire handlebar post, Truativ Elita Triple-crank set. Less than 200 miles on this bike. The CAAD 8 is considered one of the best frames on the market. I'm 5'11" and the bike is professionally adjusted to fit me.
