We are a loving family who have much experience with children of all ages. We feel like we still have lots of love, happiness, energy, fun, time and experience left to offer. We have home schooled and loved the entire experience and are looking forward to doing it all again. We are hoping to adopt a baby, toddler or a very young sibling group.

We have gone through all the requirements for a state adoption including the homestudy, the background check, the parenting classes, the first-aid course and more. But we just didn't like our experience going through the state so we decided to try for an independent adoption using just an attorney for the paperwork. We are just hoping to connect with someone that needs us as much as we want them.

We have a great home on several acres with a few farm animals and a swimming pool. We also live in a beautiful, small, safe, family oriented community that has been a wonderful place to raise a family. We are just waiting to share all of this plus our love and experience with more children.

There are so many more things we'd like to say here about our family but it would take far too much time and space. We are familiar with all stages of raising children and we already know we love it! If you or someone you know are thinking about adoption as an option, then please let us know. We are stable emotionally, financially and as a family. I for one, have had hardships, but I overcame them on my own. I am sick and tired of having to pay for other peoples cars (cash for clunkers) bailing out banks, and bailing out people who can't pay their mortgages that they should have never been approved for in the first place. I am new to the area. I just started a new job last week. My fuel pump and ignition relay went to crap at the same time!!! I have four kids that are ages 4 to 10. I was able to weather 6 months of unemployment with my savings but 3 days back at work my car quit. Please!! I can pay back the money totaling 850.00...The car repair itself is 792.00. okc is a good place to live, the pace is not like dallas or l.a. its more laid back here. Lots of places to have fun if you have the money. It is a good place to raise kids. I think you will find the cost of living here is probably one of the best in the country. As far as where to live, its like all other city's you want to live in the burbs, not the inner city. The schools are marginal, We do have charter schools you want to check those first. The crime here is not bad, however we have ALOT of homeless shelters in the city, in turn we have homeless from everywhere coming here. they are on every corner of the city with the cardboard signs. But they are not agressive about it. We have our political battles, we have a thing called MAPS its an ongoing tax to create an ever growing city, on the other hand the fire and police are not getting pay raises and are not really hirring more, I find a problem in the works there.If I had it to do over, yes I would move here, I came here from Palm Springs in 1990.

If you�re new to the community, or looking for a new church to attend, please let us tell you about this wonderful new opportunity the LORD has given us to minister to people just like YOU. We are a brand-new church plant in Enid, Oklahoma. However, we�re different from most churches you�ve ever experienced before.

Connect Church is an alternative (on the edge) church focused on an relational �inreach� & �outreach� ministry philosophy that we discovered was desperately needed in our churches and communities. We are not concerned with how you dress, who you are, or where you are from. We are interested in loving you for who you are and introducing you to Jesus Christ who loves you even more.

We are not interested in labels, changing you, or "having church". We want to BE the Church. And that is simply to love God with all of of our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Our motto is, �It�s our job to cast our net for Christ and introduce you to Him. It�s His job to clean the fish (change anything IF He sees fit).

Now we say �inreach� & �outreach� because there are people that the LORD wants to minister to both outside the church�in our community, and inside the church�in our own congregation. The greatest desire of any member of any church or a homeless individual on the street is to be loved and accepted. That�s what makes us so different. Connect Church is not like other churches that seem to focus on strict doctrine, traditions, etc. All we want to do is get together and show you the love of Christ, both in a corporate worship setting and in community-wide small groups.

So, we want to develop what we call �Connect Groups�. These Connect Groups will be a positive encouragement and strengthening aid to the following six categories:

1. New Christians � Seekers
2. Single Adults
3. Married Couples
4. Youth
5. Children
6. Community

We feel that the reason why the LORD has laid this ministry on our hearts is because of the lack of a Godly spiritual foundation and meaningful relationships in our communities and every day lives.

In the global institution known as �The Church� today, there are people who are, no doubt, Godly people, but do not have the firm foundation that the LORD is wanting them to have. Maybe they do not have any strong and meaningful relationships needed to overcome the hard times we live in. The enemy is using this weakness to keep the individual Christ-follower from growing in the LORD.

The Church is in a stagnant, complacent position and God wants us to start moving. We�re just like a stream of water. If the stream doesn�t move, the water becomes stagnant and diseased. The church will die. The Christ-follower will die. And as a result, the seeker (and the rest of the world) will die.

The Church is ill-equipped to combat this line of offensive attack. And that�s why we feel such a burden to share what the LORD has placed on our hearts. We want to help others in our church and community, as well as ourselves, develop the firm foundation and relationships that need to be there so that we may grow in Christ. We want to realize and accomplish what Jesus revealed to the people in Matthew 7:24-27 :

24�Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.
25Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won�t collapse because it is built on bedrock.
26But anyone who hears my teaching and ignores it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand.
27When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.� (NLT)

And what was the teaching that Jesus taught? Luke 10:27.

�Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.� And, `Love your neighbor as yourself.� (NLT)

As we continue to grow and are able to offer these Connect Groups, they will encourage and strengthen you. But for now, we offer a short prayer that God will bless you and your family as you read this, as you go through your daily life today, and that, if possible, you would join us each week.

Please beware of those who say H1N1. The CDC stopped conducting tests specific to H1N1 a while back because it is too widespread. A positive flu test at the doctor's office means either type A or type B flu. A Type A positive result does NOT automatically mean H1N1. It could be H1N1, H1N2,H1N3, H1N4, etc. etc. The test specific for H1N1 is not even done in the doctors office. That test has to be sent out and takes several days and most insurances do not even cover it. The treatment for H1N1 versus the "regular seasonal flu" is the same so no need to even test for H1N1 in an otherwise healthy individual. Doctors just start the treatment which covers both. So if someone you know is taking Tamiflu, that does not necessarily mean they have H1N1.

Just wanted to let everyone know about this awesome toy store in Quail Springs Mall called THE TOY BARREL. It's next to Dillard's across the children's play area (how fitting, right?). The employees in there are very helpful and they have awesome toys that you won't find anywhere else. they have this riding vehicle called the Ezy-roller, and it's pretty cool. You sit on it and push your legs on the steering rod and it self-propels itself. They also have these sandboxes that are awesome. They also have a lot of educational toys. Ok, I'll stop. Just wanted to let everyone know for Christmas.

I homeschooled (here and now)

I homeschooled my daughter. She had alot of health problems and was way behind especially in reading. The school system told me that reading at a fourth grade level was above average for the district and I should be happy. She was in seventh grade at the time. There are sites on the internet to enroll in schooling. Many are Christian based if that is an interest for you. Also, many school systems now have homeschooling programs that mean the parents only have to supervise. I would do it again. The school system said my daughter would never amount to anything because learning was difficult for her. My daughter was a fast food general manager by the time she was 21. And the school system we were in has nothing but failing grades from the no child left behind testing.
