Hello!

To all soccer players who have stopped playing recreational soccer for one reason or another!

My name is Jon Denton and I have been coaching recreational soccer for about 5 years. My daughter and I would like to create a U16 recreational team to play locally and in other parts of the Oklahoma City area. We need about 16-18 girls ranging in age from 14 to 16 years old to create a U16 recreational soccer team.

I know there have been many girls who have played when they were younger and have since stopped for one reason or another. We think we could make a very good girls recreational team from the surrounding area, (Newcastle, Tuttle, Blanchard, Bridge Creek, Alex, Dibble, etc.) and those girls who want to stay in shape for other sports; soccer is a great way to keep that edge.

We also know that Newcastle is going to be starting girls’ soccer next spring, for the high school girls. This could be the chance to hone your skills and get back in the game if you’re interested in playing for your school in a couple years. The surrounding schools may add soccer if we get enough participation from the community also.

The season will be starting in March of 2010 and I am trying to get a jump on who we can get signed up.
