I found this dog this afternoon, unfortunatly about 15 minuets after i did, the OKC Animal Control pulled up. Due to the condition of this poor dog, the animal control officer said that it was hurt too bad. It looked as if he had been hit a couple different times judging by the wounds, It was trying to walk around with a broken leg up front and another leg in the back ahd a bit cut along with all of it's other wounds.

This was a very gentle dog, but it was also a very thin dog. I did snap a few pictures of the poor thing just in case someone has been missing him. If I could have I would have brought him to my house.

So if this is your dog, I must say that I am so sorry that I was unable to do more, he was wearing a collar but no tags so I was unable to call you who ever you are.

Foxy is a white/black Smooth Fox Terrier, often mistaken for a Jack Russell Terrier. She is very sweet, loving and playful. She was wearing a red velvet rhinestone collar with her name and my cell phone number (713) 562-5968 on it when she got out of our back gate during a especially strong windstorm sometime between midnight on 1/16/08 and 8 a.m. 1/17/08 on N.W. 20th and Western, and she could be in Mesta Park/Highland Park neighborhood or crossed over to Paseo or Gatewood.
I have searched in vain (pound/newspaper ad/gazette ad/craigslist list/every lost pet web site I could find/area vets/dog park/flyers. She has not been picked up by the pound as a DOA animal.

I went to the OKC Animal Shelter looking for my lost dog. While I was there, I noticed a few dogs, but this beautiful Scotty stuck out in my mind. He was well groomed, and very well mannered. I know he must belong to someone. He was kind of small, probably 15 lbs or so, so he might still be a puppy. He is not available for adoption yet, so he was just found recently. If you lost a Scotty, you should check out the OKC Shelter.

If you are interested in owning a Scotty, perhaps you should go down and get on the Red Alert list at the Shelter. It's a program that notifies you when the dog is available for adoption.

This is information that can help a lost and/or found animal.
#1 when you call never take the word of the shelter that your pet is not there. Despite what they say, they do not keep a look out for your animal. The people who answer the phones don't have a clue on what is coming in/out of the back and front doors. There is no way to cross reference the lost/found calls or the DOA book at the shelter. You NEED to physically go there and look yourself. The city only has to keep "strays" for 3 days prior to euthanizing. There is a DOA book at the shelter. This book lists all animals that were found dead or were euthanized. As difficult as it is, you may need to check the book.
#2 You can place a FREE found ad in any newspaper and it will run for 7 days. Daily Oklahoman: (405)-475-3311, Edmond Sun: (405) 341-2121 are only two of the many area papers. This is really important for the folks who do not use the internet and who do check the papers.
#3 You should have a vet scan the animal to see if it is microchipped. This can be performed for free. Unfortunately, people do not understand the importance of a collar and tag. They think their animal will never get out but the unthinkable can happen.
#4 Call all area vets in about a 5 mile or more radius and ask if anyone has reported missing or finding a pet. Provide information and/or a flyer on the pet to each vet.
#5 Call all area rescues to see if they may have your pet.
#6 Post your lost/found animal at all the area PetSmarts and PetCos.
#7 Post flyers on corners and in the area the animal was found/lost.
#8 Post free lost/found ad on www.petfinder.com
#9 Post free lost/found on Pets 911, http://www.1888pets911.org/services/lostandfound/index.php
#10 Post free lost/found ad on Craigslist.
#11 Take/fax a found flyer with a picture of the pet to the local shelters. May be the owner may see the flyer posted on a found board while looking for their pet. OKC Shelter: (405) 297-3100 and the fax number is (405) 297-3115 or Edmond Shelter (405) 216-7615 and the fax number is 216-7618. Be sure to call to confirm that your flyer had been received. Also, these are only two of the many shelters in the area.

The information seems very helpful and can provide additional ideas.

Also, if your animal is not spayed/neutered it will cause many problems among them is the roaming factor�up to several miles away! Always spay/neuter all your pets! Another good prevention is to place a lock on your front/backyard gate. I have seen utility workers let pets out and not put them back. I have also seen these workers not properly latch a gate back, later allowing the pet to get out. Locks also DETER pet theft!!!!! Not to mention, if the utility company needs to gain access to your backyard, they will have to call and gain your permission with advance notice if you have a lock on your gate. Something most people like!

Microchipping helps just in case your pet slips out of their collar. All pets are scanned prior to being euthanized (but be sure to have current information in the data system). You may also consider listing a trusted friend�s phone number in addition to yours on tags/microchipping (in case you are out of town or are out of cell phone range). PLEASE always collar and tag all pets (with current information) and encourage others to do so as. well. Our best thoughts to each lost/found pet and the kind hearts that help them find their way home!

I was visiting Oklahoma City this weekend and stopped at Church's chicken on 23rd and Lee. There was the sweetest dog outside, who kept just hanging around. She was either pregnant or just had delivered, because her little nipples seemed full. She was black and appeared to be a lab crossed with something or other. I gave her the meat pulled from a chicken breast and some water, which she gulped down. She was friendly, tame and dear. She must have been someone's pet. I do not live there and had no way to get her home with me, so I'm hoping that if I post about her here someone will look out for her or possibly help her find safety (and for her puppies??).

On July 4th, due to all the fireworks being set off in my neighborhood, both of my dogs were frightened and got out of the yard before I could get home from work. I am still looking for my Brown lab mix, she is female and about 7 years old and weighs about 70 pounds. She has long brown to reddish brown hair with a bushy curved tail. She was collared and tagged but we did find evidence that the tags may have been lost when she went under the fence. She is gentle,obedient,loves people and attention. We have had her since she was 5 weeks old and really want her back (she's family).Her sister was picked up July 5th @ S.W. 74th & Western. My son and I have checked with the vets and animal shelters in the metro area. We both have driven around Moore and S.W. OKC looking for her. It has been one week and my wife and I are sick with curiousity to know where our baby Mattie is... She became spooked from the fireworks last Thur. and we haven't had any luck trying to locate her :(

Yesterday my UPS delivery guy, knowing that I am an animal lover, brought me an unexpected delivery: a puppy. He saw this baby walking down 134th st near Harrah Rd and said that in just the couple of minutes he was watching this puppy was almost hit a couple of times. He is soooo playful. To keep him safe we put him in my fenced backyard. He has a couple of pretty distinctive markings so if you know who he belongs to or if he belongs to you please call 386-5388 and ask for Leslie. Just short description of him (without going into markings) he is almost solid black, brown eyes, looks to be a lab mix with short hair. No collar was on him but he is very friendly and playful and he weighs about 25 pounds, I would guess him at 6 months old.

Our Family is whole agian, we found our baby! Thank you to everyone who called with info on her. I got a call this morning from someone stating they had seen her going S on Eastern, I drove around for about an hour and a half and no Penny. I had just gotten home and got another phone call Someone had finally caught her. I couldn't believe it. She was just in the neighborhood across from ours. I thank them for being such great and honest people and calling. I got there, and as soon as I saw her she nearly knocked me over! Her entire rear was wagging. It was wonderful. For everyone still looking, I am praying that they come home safely. I have never been much of an optimist, and had just about given up all hope this morning. Then I got that phone call I had been waiting on. I'm a realist, and the fact is you should never give up.

Thanks to Sabrina and her wonderful kids and their friends, Harley was rescued out of a culvert (6 ft+ deep) next to their house yesterday afternoon. Thank goodness it was dry. They immediately saw her tags and called us. She was less that 1/2 mile from our house. There thoughtfulness has made us a very happy family again. Harley is doing very well other than being thirsty, hungry and very stinky she is happy to be home.

For those of you who are still looking for your four legged family members I wish you the best of luck, and please don�t give up. One lady emailed me and gave me some tips like put your shoes, dog bed or their favorite toy outside your doors or in the driveway, they can pick up the scent over two miles away. It might just help them find their way home. We are very fortunate to get our baby back; if anyone needs our help please don�t hesitate to ask.

I don't know where to 'post' this.... daughter, estranged - don't know what ALL I did wrong in HER book - and maybe I should just let it go --- let her live her life... you know what they say - I sure don't want a loser, moocher in our lives - her paternal side of the fam "L"s in a big way -- maybe she just wants to follow in their footsteps -
She had high aspirations as a child - then ran away (from her precious daddy's home) with some carnival dudes when she was 16-ish... my husband and I went to IL to try to get her out of jail, then to Ottumwa. . .only to bring her back to Colorado - put her back on the bus to Iowa - when she called for money - I sent it a couple of times, then made arrangements for someone I trusted to take her grocery shopping; got her out of jam and back to Oklahoma on a train (someone supposedly stole her money in TX) - - - invited her on vacations.... the cards I send come back "unclaimed" . . . .that should be a big red flag, huh?
All I want to know is what I did to make her hate me so much.... get pregnant (her 'father' did NOT want a child) . . . . love her...did I care too much ??? Where her 'father' not did not want her when she was born - but made her believe he wanted her when he was calling her from jail himself... then when I did take her to him - she got into Goth and drugs and ....??? then eventually just ran away from him because HE failed to discipline her.... having his sister "discipline" her when she had her backside branded - - taking her out into the 'country' to do their disciplining!!
now I just tell people I have one child - our son, Jon.... who also has tried to make contact with Korynne but she must HATE him too.... He has never done anything to her. . .

OK - Edmond people are AWESOME! I received two e-mails telling me to check the classifieds in the Edmond Sun. I called the number and a gentlemen who owns Smith's Carpets in Edmond found my camera and listed it! Isn't that so nice? So, if you're a little disillusioned with people and their hearts these days, be encouraged! God is GOOD!! It shows in the willing hearts of His people. --------------------------------- I apparently left my camera at the fireworks display Friday night in Edmond. We were sitting east of the football stadium near the southeast corner, between the stadium and Chowning. We walked to our car parked in the parking lot of Acadia Fraternity House.

The camera is a 600 series Cannon digital, silver and in a black leather case.

I can describe the pictures on the camera.
