I have a 4 year old male basset hound. He's in great condition! He is too rough in play for our small children. He would be ideal for someone with older kids, maybe 10 years old or more.
He is very playful and energetic, not at all lazy like you might think. He does tire out, but still can handle pretty long walks and play with other dogs. He was house broken when he was young, but due to his shedding and our first child's eczema, he is now an outdoor doggie.
He's only been dog-agressive to one other dog, for good reason too. Other than that, he's never shown any sign of agression towards any other dog or person. I'm not sure how he is around other animals, he doesn't usually seem must interested in my mom's cat when he's over there to play with her two dogs.
He comes with himself, and his dog igloo (although he sleeps in our shed), food bowl, water bowl, and remainder of his food. Asking re-homing fee of $75 to ensure he goes to a good home, and to cover the cost of the igloo and other supplies. The igloo must go with him!
He's never had flees, so we don't treat him with any chemicals. he's only ever had two ticks, and those were both at the same time and in January none the less.
We had a female dog and he never could figure out how to get her pregnant, so don't waste your time if you want him for breeding!
