I will be moving to Norman the first week of August to attend OU as a Ph.d student and am in need of a 3 bedroom house/condo/duplex in the $550-$750 range. I have called a number of places already and most have said they are unwilling to hold a property for me until I can move in August, so I thought I would try CL.
At a minimum, the property would need to be on the bottom level (if it is not a house), have a washer/dryer or hookups for full-sized units (not the stackable kind) and have some kind of yard or patio. I have a small child and she needs room to run around!
Also, I prefer that the kitchen and bathroom(s) be tiled as opposed to carpeted, since I worry about leaks and mold growing (this was an issue at another apartment I had), and that I be able to paint (nothing wild, just neutral colors to make it more home-like :)
I am a good, pet-free tenant and can provide excellent references if needed. Additionally, I am able to pay rent up to 6 months in advance when I receive financial aid, so there is no need to worry about receiving rent month-to-month. I also plan to stay in the same home for at least 3-years while I complete my doctorate, so I am invested in keeping it clean and in good order, unlike some renters.
If you know of such a property, I would love to hear about it and see photos if possible. I will be making a number of trips to Norman this summer, so I could view it and put down a deposit sometime in June or July
