Looking for a way to make new friends and have a great time? Consider volunteering at the Oklahoma City’s Animal Shelter, SE 29th and Bryant. Volunteers are needed to foster kittens, puppies or young adult pets on a short term basis from between 2 weeks up to 6-8 weeks, walk shelter dogs, play with cats or help with other shelter activities. No experience is necessary. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check. For more information, contact Sheila Abernathy at 473-1428 or JustSheila@cox.net or contact the Animal Shelter directly by calling Mary Long at 405-316-6018 or Mary.Long@okc.gov.
Oklahoma City's Animal Welfare Division helps protect both the public as well as stray, lost and unwanted pets in our community. They have strong adoption, volunteer, reuniting programs and now offer 24-hour night drop services to Oklahoma City residents. Don't forget that OKC Animal Welfare is the best hope many lost pets have at being reunited with their families.
