We are seeking a Copywriter/Editor with a strong background in web content and an expertise in producing an online marketing oriented newsletter or e-zine. Successful candidates will possess the ability to write concisely and effectively, and convey Auctivas voice and strategy. They will also need to collaborate effectively with other content providers, website designers, visual designers, and product teams.
Responsibilities will include:
Develop story ideas, edit copy/stories, and help with layout and design.
Author consumer-oriented tutorials and audio/video training materials specific to Auctiva products.
Work closely with the Managing Editor to identify copywriting objectives and balance copywriting needs with delivery expectations in a deadline-driven work environment.
Stay up to date on news and events related to the online auction world, specifically eBay.
Work within and maintain consistent writing style and voice, across the site.
Understand copyright law and author rights management requirements.
Requirements:
BA or AA in English or Journalism (or equivalent work experience.)
3-5 years article research and writing experience.
1-2 yrs recent experience in an online environment developing consumer web content.
1-2 years of copy editing experience.
Coordinate with internal and external content partners.
Samples of web content work, clips, and/or sites.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with AP style.
Technical writing certificate and/or experience.
Background in content development.
Experience in using content management systems.
Familiarity with what will appeal to and be perceived as helpful by individuals who sell on eBay and other online auction sites.
