- To read copy or proof to detect and correct errors;
- To allocate print space for story text, photos, and illustrations according to space parameters and copy significance, using knowledge of layout principles;
- To plan the contents of publications according to the publication?s style, editorial policy, and publishing requirements;
- To verify facts, dates, and statistics, using standard reference sources;
- To review and approve proofs submitted by composing room prior to publication production;
- To oversee publication production, including artwork, layout, computer typesetting, and printing, ensuring adherence to deadlines and budget requirements;
- To confer with management and editorial staff members regarding placement and emphasis of developing news stories;
- To assign topics, events and stories to individual writers or reporters for coverage.

- Work with business owner(s) and Director to conceptualize content that will advance the company's merchandising, business, marketing, or branding objectives.
- Has a deep and thorough understanding of those objectives, and can translate those into clear executable steps.
- Defines what information is needed for a successful customer experience.
- Collaborate with and set content direction for team and agencies.
- Develops standards and tone/voice for brands.
- Assess existing and proposed content.
- Coordinates content development; establishes efficient workflow processes.
- Highly aware of competitor best practices.
Writing and Editing
- Ensures that content is consistent and effective across all mediums/channels.
- Review agency and team efforts and provide effective direction and feedback.
- Work with functions across the company to ensure good communications and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Often looks for areas that need improvement, and is able to drive implementation of changes and solutions.
- Able to write hands-on as needed.
- Coordinating assignments, invoices and contracts for freelance writers
- Working with the editorial team to determine editorial tone
- Collaborating with design team to insure dynamic and informative page layouts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field and experience in new media
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- An aptitude for content creation and exceptional editorial oversight
- Identify the need for, document the requirements of, and develop documents for the internal and external-facing customers of Taseon products.
- Develop and maintain a revision control system for the initial creation and subsequent update of all documents within the technical writer?s purview. This includes the generation of defects related to all manuals and working with the QA team to isolate, resolve and verify the defects in the manuals.
- Lead initiatives to build Taseon's documentation processes and tools to create robust solution documentation, making it easier for high-level deployments.
- Collaborate with support and service teams to leverage customer priorities and customer concerns into Taseon documents. Establish a process for continuous improvement.
- Work with QA & Product Marketing to scrutinize release notes for a given release and own the process/task that generates the final document packages to Taseon?s customers.
- Report documentation progress on a regular basis.
