REDUCED!!! Was asking $2,300!
Large vintage tropical forest, waterfall, butterflies and birds of paradise birds; sun conure, toucans, and parrots art scene fabric panel print/copy, framed in a rare to find vintage wooden heavy duty sturdily constructed very large lattice grapevine motif carved frame. The sun conure makes me think of mandarin orange slices!
I guestimate this fabric panel print/copy to of originated from the late 1800s to early 1900s and from the 50s to 60s, and guestimate the frame to possibly be from the late 1950s to early 1970s.
The art is a quilt panel attached to the wood frame backing with an adhesive then a hard non reflective coating applied over the fabric.
Confirmed to be coated fabric by another framed art decor from the same estate framed and coated the same way that I separated from the frame to use just the frame.
This art and frame complement each other beautifully.
This paradise birds quilt panel copy/print is still available new today on some markets, just the outer layer to make a quilt.
It was a popular craft at one time to frame fabric as art and apply a hard protective coating over it, as seen in the pics this fabric and frame are a stunning craft art or arts and crafts art ensemble.
So pretty and the sight of it hanging on the wall is nothing less than grandeur, very much one of a kind and rare to find ensemble. Will bring a burst of vibrancy to a space and tickle you near every you see it!
Easy to care for by periodically gently dusting. If a more detailed cleaning came to be needed this is easy to do by gently washing the art surface in small areas with a damp rag, and mild soap, then gently wiping the area dry, the hard protective coating is very similar to plastic.
The art and frame both have flaws that do not significantly distract from the art but are considered into the price - the frame value is a little in excess of 4k but at least 4k easily.
At the top middle of the art there's a crack in the coating not immediately notable and not noticeable from a distance; with all the colors and scenery going on it isn't very noticable when hanging as seen in pics.
The frame has a warped area towards the top left as seen in pics, it isn't immediately visible I thoroughly looked at the frame several times and handled it multiple times before I noticed the warped area, it doesn't much rise very far from the wall or a flat surface as seen in pic.
The frame has had some cleaning up of scratches and scuffs and touched up with a Minwax Golden Oak scratch concealer marker
and cleaned up nicely from the condition I obtained it in as seen in pics the overall cleanup result is not flawless there are a couple small surface flaws where the varnish wore, tiny dents, and scratches; despite the flaws both the art and frame are in good overall immediately visible cosmetic condition as seen in pics.
There are two chips on the back top left edge of the frame not visible from the front, no other cracks or chips anywhere on the frame! A couple of the pics are before cleanup of the frame.
As seen in pics the flaws aren't dominant when hung and do not distract from the frame being very pretty and looks overall cosmetically very good as does the art.
Will need a at least a cross over that seats are all free/ able to fold down or be able to put it it across the floor in front of the back seats of a med or large be sure to bring protective blankets if you think you'll need them!
UPDATE:I recently realized it fits in a crossover but I initially hauled it in a pickup.
52" overall height, 44" overall width.
