Responsibilities of a dental assistant include:
Assisting the dentist during treatment
Taking and developing dental x-rays
Taking impressions of patients teeth
Communicating with patients (e.g., scheduling, billing)
Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies
Developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment
Performing office management tasks
Discussing medical history and taking vital stats from patients
