This is a Toys R Us exclusive, Star Trek "Classic Phaser," from Diamond Select Toys, Art Asylum, and of course, CBS. The back of the box calls it an "AUTHENTIC CLASSIC PHASER ACTION REPLICA," with "Phaser beam light and sound FX!" It is a Type-2 Phaser with a removable Type-1 Hand Phaser. I believe this is from 2008, as that is the latest (c) date I can find on the box or paperwork.

From the box:
"Trek Tek action replicas are full scale toys modeled after original Star Trek props for maximum authenticity."

The originally included batteries have been removed to save the electronics. So of course the box has been opened, but the Phaser is in new condition, with a clean battery compartment (unlike "sealed box" vintage electronics).
