Anyone getting harassed by their old insurance company? (Del City)

So, everyone's insurance rates (home and auto) are going up and up. I was fed up with not being in 'good hands' and switched last November to a veteran focused provider for my auto. My auto insurance was set up on auto-pay for years and I stopped it the day before renewal, called the company and advised them I had a new provider. Also got on the website to be sure the message got through. Well, it did not. I immediately started getting late payment notices. I contacted them AGAIN, spoke with a human who advised the info was received and corrected.... NOT. Now they've turned me over to a collection agency and I'm getting calls and texts for payments on coverage I canceled more than 6 months ago???
WTH?? Bear in mind, they still have my home policy. But that is going up too so it's next. (**My agent is a great guy. He's established, professional, great to deal with. But I contacted him and told him the house would be next to go. Other than that, I'm going to keep my conversation with him confidential). Has anyone else experienced anything like this? How did you handle?
