Genuine Yellow Gold Carnelian signet ring from the Victorian era (1837-1901). The top panel in which the stone sits measures 15.45mm long by 10.64 mm across. Bezel set on top is an rounded corner rectangle cut Carnelian stone with a white onyx top. The ring is a size 6+ (over the 6 mark just above the 6.25 mark) and can be re-sized, there is evidence of sizing in the past. Inquire for a quote to resize, the turnaround time is approximately 3 weeks for sizing. This is a solid weighty ring at 4.77 grams. It is unmarked for gold content as typical for American made pieces of the time, it has been both acid and electronically tested and reads between 10k and 14k depending on the spot tested. Please note there are deep testing marks to the underside of the ring, not visible when worn in addition to wear marks at the corners of the underside of the ring. There is natural patina present on the ring from the aging of the alloys used in the gold mixture. I have left it to the buyer to decide if they would like to polish these signs of age away. I will polish the ring for no additional charge if desired, please allow 3 business days for polishing. This signet ring was made for a lady with lovely detailing on the shoulders and around the band. It is impactful without being bulky and a beautiful example of the period.
