Up for sale is a beautiful vintage 5-string open-back banjo. Based on the 38 tension hooks and the construction, this appears to be a circa 1900s "mail order" era instrument. It has a great antique look and would be a perfect project for a luthier or a stunning piece of musical decor.
Details:

Type: 5-String Open Back.

Hardware: 38 tension hooks (very ornate for this style).

Head: Upgraded with a Waverly Fiberkyn 2 head (synthetic, designed to mimic vintage calfskin).

Case: Includes the vintage hardshell case shown in the photos.

Condition: This is being sold AS-IS. It currently has trouble staying in tune and will likely need some setup work, a bridge adjustment, or new tuning pegs to be fully playable. It shows beautiful natural wear consistent with its age (see photos for details of the pot and neck).

A great find for a collector or someone looking for a "fixer-upper" project!
