It started life as the VT-22 combo as can be seen on the original faceplate.
- I purchased a new head cab, V4 faceplate, pilot lights, and power supply kit from fliptops.net (faceplate now discontinued).
- New PCB's allow for eliminating the compactron tube in the original and replacing it with common 12A_7 tubes with zero change in sound or functionality (PCB's now discontinued).
- A new tone stack board is also here which replaces the poor quality encapsulated unit in the original.
- If can caps aren't your thing, there are PCB's to replace them using smaller modern caps which can be placed completely inside the chassis.
- I have a complete set of used tubes for this amp. Also have a NOS quad of 7027A's I may be persuaded to let go for the right price.
-NOT included are the tube sockets, resistors, and caps for the new PCB's.
Now, the project statement above means that you must do the work to make this amp functional. It is currently non-functional. Done properly, it will be like a brand new vintage V4 (if not better). No support will be provided after purchase.
If I don't get any interest I will order parts and start building it up myself to sell when finished. I may decide to keep it, but if not, the price will be considerably more.
$600. Must pick up in Shawnee. I could be persuaded to meet in OKC area but only with a guaranteed purchase.
