We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Low Voltage Technician/DATA CABLING specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems and data cabling infrastructure across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical network and telecommunication systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and security of our clients’ environments. Duties
Install, terminate, and test data cabling including Cat5, Cat6, and following industry standards such as NEC (National Electrical Code) guidelines.
Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs.
Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on low voltage systems such as CCTV surveillance, and telecommunication infrastructure.
Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose issues and verify system performance.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients during site visits, explaining system functions, and addressing technical concerns promptly.
Requirements
Proven experience as a service technician or installer specializing in low voltage systems or data cabling projects.
Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), LAN setups, network installation procedures, and schematics interpretation.
Familiarity with telecommunication systems including VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), telephony hardware like Avaya systems, and associated wiring standards.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments across multiple locations.
Electrical experience related to NEC compliance, power tools operation, equipment repair, and troubleshooting low voltage circuits.
Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced settings.
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally for installation projects as needed.
