We're looking for women between the ages 40 and 65 to help us better understand women's brain health. If you're not in this age range, but know someone who is, please pass this along!

We're looking for women between the ages 40 and 65 to help us add to add to the knowledge of women's brain health. We're looking at the link between iron levels and quality of life, brain health, and cognitive functioning in women in this age range. Please consider participating to help us add to the knowledge of women's health in general and women's brain health in particular. Here are the details:

The Department of Psychology at the University of Oklahoma is recruiting participants for a study of how varying levels of iron might affect the brain health and the memory and cognitive abilities of women before, during, and after menopause. The study involves a small set of questionnaires, the provision of a small sample of blood, a scan of your brain’s structure, and simple tests of memory and cognitive performance. In addition, your brain activity will be measured while performing the memory and cognitive tests.

In order to qualify for this study,
* you must be a woman between the ages of 40-65;
* you must not be currently pregnant or lactating;
* you should be experiencing some symptoms of menopause, even if they are mild;
* you must not be under medical treatment for depression;
* you must not be currently treated for iron deficiency;
* you must be English proficient;
* you must have normal or corrected-to-normal vision;
* and your BMI must be between 18 and 30.

If you are eligible, you will be asked to come to OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City for a simple blood draw. You will then get an MRI scan at OU HSC, which will take about 30 minutes. Finally, will come to the Norman Campus cognitive testing with EEG. You will receive a $25 gift card after the blood draw, $25 after the MRI, and $75 at the completion of the cognitive tests.
